When campers arrive at Deerhorn, they are placed in an activity group with kids of the same age. Their activity group has a schedule of activities they will attend every other day, six activities each day. The only activity they will have every day is Sports and Games, which combines two activity groups. The schedule for a typical day at Deerhorn looks like this:
7:15am The bell rings to wake up
8am Breakfast
9-9:45am 1st activity period
9:55-10:40am 2nd activity period
10:50am-11:35am 3rd activity period
12:00pm Lunch
1:00-2:00pm Rest hour in your koogee
2:10-2:55pm 4th activity period
3:05-3:50pm 5th activity period
4:00-4:45pm 6th activity period
5:00-5:30pm General swim
6:00pm Dinner
7:00pm Evening Activity
8:20pm Milkline
9:00-10:00pm Lights out
General Swim is a non-instructional time each day from 5:00-5:30. Our campers are well-supervised by trained lifeguards as they have fun playing in the water. Favorites include paddling kayaks, going down the waterslide, and going out to the Rave, our 20 foot water trampoline.
Each session will have one Special Day. We sleep in an extra hour, and have breakfast at 9:00am. Campers enjoy some rare free time after breakfast, where they might choose to play ultimate frisbee or street hockey on the Skeeter.
In the afternoon of the Special Day, there is a big all-camp event, usually a team competition. After dinner is some time with your koogee and we end the day with a camper favorite, a Deerhorn campfire. Every summer, we are blessed to have many talented entertainers for our campfires.
