Our first day of D Session dawned cool but sunny. We had bagels for breakfast, and the kids who stayed over from C session were divided up into temporary activity groups by grade, just for the day while we waited for the buses and for kids to arrive by car. They did activities like sprout ball and World Cup Soccer. After sub sandwiches for lunch, the kids who arrived today by car took their swim tests and then did some activities until the buses pulled in. Three buses arrived around 2:45 and camp was crazy chaos once again! Kids settled into koogees and took their swim tests. When swim tests were done, we had a meeting in the lodge to introduce the staff and go over a few camp rules. Then kids divided into different activities like volleyball, gaga ball, basketball, lawn soccer, and sprout ball. Dinner was spaghetti and meatballs and after dinner it was time for the Deerhorn Combine. Kids compete in different events with their koogee while the Leaders walked around and met kids. They will draft teams tonight and then kids will find out tomorrow what teams they’re on! We’re off to a great start and we know D Session is going to be a good one!
