It was definitely a much chillier day today, with some brief rain sprinkles this morning and clouds throughout the day. The sun tried to peek out a few times, but didn’t stay out long. We had sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit sandwiches for breakfast and meatball subs and tater tots for lunch. There were a few brave souls who skied today, but the waterfront was mostly quiet on this chilly day. The exception was our guided fishing boats who came in and out every hour to take our dads and sons out to fish! Some kids wanted to fish for the elusive musky, while others just wanted to catch small fish. We always say that the musky is the fish of 10,000 casts, but within ten minutes of starting to fish, Leo Bechert pulled in a 41″ musky!! Later on the Veysey brothers landed a 39″ musky! Lots of smaller fish caught today too, like the Northern Pike caught by Fritz Heffinger. But whether dads were fishing or catching, everyone had a great time! We had a dads vs staff softball game at 4:30, and tonight after dinner we’ll do dads vs staff vs kids in Braveheart, a huge camp favorite. We’ll cap off this final full day of Father Son camp with another incredible Deerhorn campfire! Tomorrow we will have activities running from 9am-11am and then this 3rd Father Son camp will come to an end. We’re so grateful for all the dads and sons who spent these fun four days with us!
