A Brotherhood Adventure

it was another gorgeous sunny day at Deerhorn! Sports and Games played Star Wars on DK Field. It’s yet another Deerhorn game that definitely involves dodgeball. (pretty much all of the made up games involve some form of dodgeball! πŸ˜‰ There is footage of Star Wars on our IG and FB stories. Breakfast was egg and cheese burritos, and lunch was tortellini. Kids are working to earn stars in activities every day. They can earn a red, blue, or gold star in each activity. Everyone who participates with a good attitude earns a red star. Then each activity has its own requirements for blue and gold, as you progress in skills in that activity. (Like your gold star in skiing is slaloming around the lake) You earn 25 points for a red, 50 for a blue, and 100 for a gold. Those points help your team but also go toward earning a patch at the end of the session, like Trailblazer for 200 points, all the way up to Perfect Warrior for earning every star in camp. Those star boards are in the lodge and kids check them religiously! Some kids love working for stars, while others are happy just to hang out and have fun. We’re good with either one!

We also took brother pictures today after breakfast. They are my favorite to take, just to see who shows up. Kids have been asking me for days when we’re doing brother pictures, and I love that it matters to them. We make the announcement and it’s not just actual brothers who show up, but also cousins and friends who consider themselves Deerhorn brothers. Nothing better than sharing Deerhorn with your brother!
