There is no doubt that Deerhorn is synonymous with brotherhood. When we announce that we’re taking brother pictures, it’s always fun to see who shows up. I think the moms out there would agree that boys notoriously don’t like having their picture taken. So it’s awesome to see how many of them want to take their picture with the brothers they’ve made at Deerhorn. Camp is a place where bonds with your brother are strengthened (I speak from experience!), and where new brotherhood connections are formed and strengthened.
Today’s weather is hot and sunny, perfect for water activities! It’s the second full day of activities, so kids are learning the ropes in the other half of activities. Breakfast this morning was scrambled eggs and potatoes, lunch was mac and cheese, and dinner is tacos. The Voyagers headed out for the afternoon on the lake for kayak basic safety, as they’re entering the final few days of prep before their trip leaves Wednesday! They will spend 8 days sea kayaking in Voyageurs National Park and they’ve been looking forward to this trip for years! It’s a gorgeous day and we’re all settling into this new session.
