It was another hot one today at Deerhorn, with the heat and humidity driving some activities down to the waterfront this afternoon. Sports and Games started out playing football this morning but after lunch moved down to the beach for some Cross Net H2O, a volleyball like game played in the water. Kids loved it! Breakfast this morning was french toast bake and sausage, and lunch was pulled pork and tater tots. We also got brother pictures after lunch today, which are always some of our favorites. I can tell you firsthand how being at Deerhorn with your brother brings you so much closer together. I spent 6 years with my younger brother on staff, and I will always credit Deerhorn for my friendship with him. You not only get to share this place and experience with him, but the relationship just feels different than being at home with them. Big brothers and little brothers have space from each other in koogees and activity groups, but each knows the other is nearby if they need them. It’s one of my favorite parts of Deerhorn, watching brothers share it together. We even had kids ask yesterday when we were going to take brother pictures!
