Father’s Day Finale

First, and most importantly, Happy Father’s Day to all of our Deerhorn Dads! We’ve spent the past 8 days with 65 incredible families at our two Father Son camps. We count ourselves very lucky to call them friends. Hearing all the rave reviews today as dads were leaving, we know that they didn’t let the rain slow them down at all. Many commented that it didn’t matter what they were doing, or where they were doing it, it was just spending those four precious days with their son that mattered most. We couldn’t agree more!

After a rousing few games of Braveheart last night (outside!) we finally got to have a campfire outdoors at the campfire ring! Lots of great songs, including our favorite, Wagon Wheel, followed by s’mores around the fire. It doesn’t get much better! Today we had activities running from 9am until 11am and then the dads left and the kids who are staying for A session were ready to party! It was a VERY loud lunch today, as the kids were bubbling over with the excitement of the session to come.

We have 21 kids who are staying for the A session and after lunch they all settled into their new koogees. At 1:30, it was off to Waters of Minocqua for the afternoon! It’s a small waterpark in Minocqua, and kids were especially excited to know there was a hot tub! They’ll have pizza for dinner there, and then come back to camp to watch a movie in the basement of Deerhorn Hall. And then tomorrow morning, we’re off and running for A session! Many thanks to all the dads and sons who spent the last four days with us, and to those who shared their sons with us for the next 11 days. It’s going to be great!
