No Matter What

Our weather this morning for the start of our third Father Son camp was less than ideal, to say the least. We woke to pouring rain and thunderstorms, which went on all morning. The weather kept saying it would end by noon…or 1:30…or 3. Finally by 3, the rain stopped and we could resume lots more outside activities. The day definitely wasn’t a total wash, though! There is always fun to be had at Deerhorn. The craft shop was busy all day, as was riflery. There were board games and rafter ball played in the lodge, and lots of darts, ping pong, air hockey, and foosball played in Deerhorn Hall. Lunch was chicken patties and sweet potato fries. After lunch, even though it was still lightly raining, there were still kids playing on the waterfront and playing tennis on soggy courts! It fully quit by 3, and we even snuck in one horseback ride at 3:30. Archery resumed and the waterfront was busy for the last several hours of the afternoon as families went on the Rave, played in the water, and went down the slide, making up for lost time! Luckily, our weather is supposed to be great for the rest of the session. After dinner, we’ll play some team sports, followed by a Deerhorn campfire. All in all, it was a great day at Deerhorn, and the photos show that we have fun, no matter what! All of the photos posted from this session can be found on our SmugMug site.
