Well, we’ve been really lucky this session with the weather. For the most part, it has been warm and sunny, with very little rain. Unfortunately, that luck ran out this afternoon, as it started raining after lunch and didn’t quit until after dinner. That definitely put a kink in our usual plans! Breakfast this morning was egg and cheese sandwiches and hash browns, lunch was pulled pork sandwiches and fries, and dinner was amazing homemade fried chicken and mashed potatoes. This morning was the last three activity periods of this session. We aren’t sure where the time went! Kids worked hard for those last few stars in activities for their team as well as earning a patch for themselves. After lunch, each koogee walked through a GIANT line of laid out no-name lost and found. (Many thanks to those parents who label their kid’s stuff with their name!!), and then kids headed back to their koogee to pack up. Even the kids who are staying over packed up because most will move koogees. Normally,  we move some baggage after rest hour is over. Normally, this last afternoon is three periods of team competition, ending with all-camp Braveheart. However, the weather gods had other plans. We had to delay our baggage moving until after dinner, and all of our team comp got moved inside. Braveheart became skit night as the rain continued to pour. It’s not ideal, and we know that kids were disappointed to not get that last Braveheart in. But sometimes plans change! Kids were excited for the counselor show after dinner, which is always full of funny skits and jokes.
