Today was the first full day of activities for D session and it was a busy one. Kids have six activity periods every other day, and the other six on opposite days. The only activity they have every day is Sports and Games, because we combine two activity groups to play team sports and crazy made up Deerhorn games. Today Sports and Games played World Cup Soccer on the soccer field. Mountain Biking and Crafts are together in an activity period so kids can choose if they want to bike or do crafts. Horseback riding and golf also share an activity period, so kids can choose one or the other. We had three activity periods this morning, and 3rd period ended early so that we could announce teams! That’s always an exciting day at camp! After lunch, there was a meeting for kids who arrived for this session, going over all of our camp rules. Kids had three activity periods this afternoon, and during general swim there was a long line out the door for the Deerhorn Store! Teams being announced  means that the after dinner activity was all-camp Braveheart! Each team tries to pull the flags of the other teams and have their team be the last man standing. It’s hands down everybody’s favorite camp game. Breakfast this morning was chocolate chip pancakes and bacon, lunch was grilled cheese and tomato soup, and dinner was homemade chicken tenders and fries…it was definitely a kid-friendly day of meals!
