Today’s the day our 15 year-olds have been waiting for and looking forward to for years. They’ve watched the Voyagers and Pioneers for years, waiting for their turn. And today it finally was. They left bright and early at 7am to make the 6 1/2 hour drive to Voyageurs National Park for an 8 day paddling expedition. They even had a crew of fans up early with them to send them off. They arrived safely and have a short paddle to their first campsite for the night.

 

Back at camp, it was another sunny, gorgeous day. There were a couple of short storms that blew through this afternoon, but the rain didn’t last long and campers were back at it in no time. Sports and Games played Quidditch on the soccer field. There are no flying brooms, just tennis racquets, dodgeballs, hula hoops strung up in the soccer goals, and a staff as the Golden Snitch running all over camp with kids chasing him! Breakfast was doughnuts and muffins and lunch was delicious homemade pizza and caesar salad..
