About 40 boys and 5 staff left this morning on the Lake Superior Trip. They will head up to Bayfield Wisconsin, gateway to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. They’ll travel by ferry across to Madeline Island where they’ll spend the afternoon swimming and playing in Lake Superior. They’ll come back to Bayfield and camp out overnight, enjoying a campfire and pizza dinner. They have several fun stops they’ll make on the way up today and on the way home tomorrow. Today they stopped at Wildwood Wildlife Park in Minocqua to get to check out some animals there, including deer that just roam freely around the park. Tomorrow they are going raspberry picking in the morning, then stopping to see a chainsaw carving demonstration. They’ll do some hiking at Copper Falls State Park in Mellen, Wisconsin. They’ll return tomorrow just before dinner.
Back at camp, activities are in full swing, and kids are having a great time. Sports & Games is playing soccer on the soccer field, and kids are enjoying the warm weather to get lots of time playing in the water. Breakfast was scrambled eggs & toast, and lunch was chicken patties.
