We woke to a much chillier morning today at Deerhorn. It was grey and overcast most of the day, but the sun tried to peek out in the afternoon. We were just glad it didn’t rain today like it did during Father Son 1! Breakfast this morning was doughnut holes, scrambled eggs, and sausage, and lunch was meatball subs. Today was our guided fishing day, so dads and sons could sign up for an hour time slot with one of our professional guides. The Murphy family caught a 30″ inch musky in the first round of fishing, but otherwise it was mostly smaller fish like bass and crappie all day. Whether or not they caught anything, they had lots of fun with our awesome guides! Other than fishing, activities went on as usual today. There were a few hearty souls who went skiing, but otherwise the beach was pretty quiet. At 4:30 the dads took on the staff in a softball game, and after dinner we played a game of dads vs kids vs staff in Braveheart, everyone’s favorite camp game. We’ll end our day as we always do at Father Son camp with another campfire, complete with s’mores! Many of these kids are staying over for A session, and they will be heading to The Waters of Minocqua tomorrow for the afternoon. A big thanks to all of the dads and sons who joined us for Father Son 2!
