We are enjoying the most beautiful weather at Deerhorn today. The skies are blue, the sun is shining, and the breeze off the lake is amazing…it’s the perfect Northwoods afternoon.  Activities are in full swing. Kids are learning about the safety, rules, and expectations in each activity and then they are getting right into the action. For breakfast, we had cinnamon rolls, and lunch was corn dogs. Everybody in camp got patriotic bandanas this morning at breakfast and kids are sporting them with pride! The dining room is decorated with streamers and balloons, and we’ve been singing patriotic songs at meals. At camp, we sing “Bappy Hirthday ” instead of Happy Birthday…so today we sang Bappy Hirthday to America. There are lots of kids and staff who brought patriotic gear with them to camp, so everyone is sporting red, white, & blue.

After dinner tonight, we are doing 4th of July relays on the baseball field, followed by fireworks on the beach. Spirits are high, smiles are everywhere, and we feel pretty lucky to get to spend the 4th of July in such good company! We hope your 4th of July is just as fun-filled as ours!
