We send out huge Father’s Day greetings to all of our dads out there!!
Fathers and sons were busy again yesterday, making the most of their time at camp. Breakfast was pancakes, lunch was chicken patties, and everyone was excited for our first picnic supper on the beach, brats and hot dogs. The rain held off until late last night, allowing for a full day of activities for everyone. Street hockey on the Skeeter was popular again, with several games lasting a couple of hours. After a picnic supper on the beach, dads took on the staff in a softball game. Dads lead 14-10 going into the last inning, when the staff came from behind to win 15-14. We finished up the night with another phenomenal campfire.
We are sad to see a lot of dad’s have to go home early today, but we understand completely, with Father’s Day today and many of them having to work tomorrow. We are grateful for the time they are able to spend here with their son, and we hope that their sons tell them what great dads they are for bringing them! We had a huge storm last night that brought lots of rain, but the skies cleared by breakfast, so activities are going in full force. The after dinner activity tonight will be dads vs staff vs kids in a game of Scalp, which is the all-time favorite camper game. We’ll finish it off with our last campfire of the session.
