We woke up this morning to thunderstorms and pouring rain, and during breakfast the winds were so high it was blowing the rain into Che’s Lounge screened porch where some of us were eating breakfast. But the winds died as quickly as they had come and by the time activities had started, the sun was shining again! Northern Wisconsin weather is crazy. Kids were really excited this morning for doughnuts, muffins, and bacon for breakfast. They are having a blast in activities, learning how to ski, sail, canoe, and so many more things! At Deerhorn, we focus on improvement in lifetime sports, so we hope that these activities inspire a lifelong love of being active in the outdoors! Kids are working on stars in activities as well. Our star program goes along with our focus on improvement. Red stars are earned simply for participation. Blue and then gold stars are earned for accomplishing higher level skills in activities. Some kids really love working to earn those stars, while others are content to just have fun in activities and play with the dogs. We don’t care either way, as long at they’re having fun!
