This last full day of A session has been a busy one! Breakfast this morning was scrambled eggs, bacon, and doughnut holes. This morning kids had their last three periods of regular activities, and then it was pizza bagels for lunch! (huge crowd fave!) After lunch, kids went back to their koogees to pack up during rest hour. Even kids who are staying for B session will likely switch koogees, so everyone has to pack up and clean up. This afternoon was three periods of team competition. The schedule included Koogee Ball, flag football, Skeeter Ball, Targetball, and ultimate frisbee, and was supposed to end with third period being Braveheart. However, we had storms come through around 4 so that led to an impromptu team comp skit contest instead of Braveheart. (You can imagine how great those were with boys and not much planning. 😉 So while we were sad to not get to play Braveheart, kids still had a fun afternoon with their friends. We have lots of made up games at Deerhorn, and you’ll have to ask your son to tell you all about his favorites, and how to play them! After dinner, it’s time for the counselor show! Kids LOVE the counselor show, as staff puts on lots of hilarious skits. Our first group of Voyagers checked in and they are doing great! They did their re-ration for food today and paddled 13 miles round trip. They’ve had mostly sunny skies and are all in good spirits!
