The Start of D Session

D Session has arrived! The 31 kids who stayed over from C had a great time yesterday on their changeover trip to Minocqua and woke this morning ready to get D session started! We had pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon for breakfast. We divided kids into temporary activity groups by age just for the day. Activities throughout the day included water-skiing, sprout ball, volleyball, and kickball. As kids arrived by car, they joined their activity group after they got settled in their koogee. It was a chick-fil-a style lunch with chicken sandwiches, mac and cheese, and waffle fries. After lunch, kids who arrived by car took their swim tests and then did activities until the buses arrived around 3p. After the bus arrival, it was full speed ahead! We moved baggage, settled into koogees, and took swim tests. At 4:30, we had a meeting to introduce the staff and then kids did activities once again by age group. Juniors (7-10) played sprout ball, intermediates (11 & 12) played ultimate frisbee, and  seniors (13 and up) played koogee ball. Dinner was spaghetti and meatballs and after dinner it was time for koogee wars before settling down for bed after milkline. And yes, our air quality isn’t pristine, but it’s been very manageable all day and activities have mostly continued as usual. We heard from several Chicago families who dropped their kids off today that the air quality is better than in Chicago. We’ll continue to watch the AQI and adjust as needed, but especially for our asthma kids. We can tell that D session is going to be a great one!
