Since the Lake Superior trip was out of camp today, we decided to treat ourselves to sleeping in an extra hour. The cheers in the dining room at dinner last night with the announcement were loud! After breakfast sandwiches for breakfast, kids had two periods of activities with the same temporary groups as yesterday. This afternoon, it was time for some carnival fun.
There were places all over camp where you could earn tickets by playing games, and then there were places where you could use tickets, like buying snacks at the snack bar in the office, or playing in the bubble balls, or bouncing on the bungee trampoline that was at camp for the afternoon. Luckily, the weather was beautiful and everyone had a great time!
The Voyagers spent most of the afternoon food packing in the lodge. They always get really excited for food packing, as it makes the trip seem even more real, getting to see what they’re going to be eating for 8 days. They leave Friday for their kayaking adventure in the Apostle Islands.
The Lake Superior Trip had breakfast at the campground this morning, then headed into Bayfield for some berry picking at Blue Vista Farms. The next stop was a hike and a picnic at Copper Falls State Park. Finally, they stopped at Wildwood Wildlife Park in Minocqua. It’s a great little zoo with deer wandering around the park and lots of animals to see and feed, including giraffes! They had a great trip and arrived back at camp at 5:30.
