Deerhorn’s Coronavirus Response

As we prepare for our 91st summer of boyhood adventures, we want to assure you that the health and safety of our campers and staff is our top priority. As information about Covid-19 dominates the news, the Deerhorn directors are working with our nurse, the Wisconsin State Health Department, and vendors to reduce the risk of illness and spread of germs on our grounds.  We will be screening for illness before each session.  We are in the process of doubling the size of our infirmary, ordering infection control supplies, and increasing our cleaning personnel.

We are asking parents to work with their children on proper and frequent hand washing and not touching their face.  Our staff will continue this coaching during the summer.  We will be avoiding hand-shakes and high fives.  If your child has traveled internationally right before camp or anyone in your family is sick just prior to your child’s camp start date, please contact us.

We will cancel our April 25th reunion date in Northbrook if things have not drastically improved. With the wave of recent school closings this week, we hope that will help slow or stop the spread of the disease in the next few weeks, and that summer camps across the nation will be able to open as planned.

As we learn more information this spring, we will keep you informed. For now, let’s do our best to practice social distancing and keep in touch with our friends virtually. Many of us live far apart in the off season, so we are good at that!

If you have any questions or concerns, you can email deerhorn@deerhorn.com or call 800-713-3130.

We look forward to seeing you this summer.

Sincerely,

The Broadbridge Family
