Mid-May Deerhorn Update

Hello Deerhorn Family,

We know you have been waiting to hear from us about our decision about this summer, and we thank you for your patience.  The information on this pandemic is ever-changing, which has made decision-making extremely difficult.   The path forward isn’t clear. However, we believe at this time, it would be wise to cancel our Father Son One, Father Son Two, and A Session.  We will make a decision about the rest of the summer by June 1st.

To reduce travel risks this summer, we have decided to cancel our hockey program, waterpark trips, changeover trips, Lake Superior trip, movie theater trips, guided fishing, and International Staff Exchange program.  We have reviewed every aspect of our operations, and will be making significant changes in how camp is managed going forward.  We will share more detailed information once we make a decision about the rest of the summer.

We know that kids need camp now more than ever, and we truly want to be able to make that happen. But we also know that the safety of our campers, staff, and families will always be our number one priority. We continue to design new ways to do camp, and are still hopeful that Deerhorn opens in some capacity for our 91st summer.  We greatly appreciate all the support and notes of kindness we have received from the Deerhorn family.  We hope your family is safe during these challenging times. We are sending you all so much love in the midst of this chaos. Thanks for hanging in there with us.
