What a weird and wild weather day at Deerhorn! When we woke up this morning, it was pouring rain, so the first two activity periods pivoted to rainy day plans. By third period, it had stopped so we were able to announce teams and pass out team shirts. That’s always an exciting day at Deerhorn! After lunch, the sun came out and the first two activity periods ran as normal. Suddenly, during third period, the clouds rolled in and it started absolutely sheeting rain. (no lightning or thunder) The sailing group were out playing on sailboards and getting absolutely soaked, and they had so much fun! It poured for an hour, but even the pouring rain couldn’t stop the excitement for the first day of the Deerhorn Store! We had a line out the door until first call for dinner! Since teams were announced today, normally we would play Braveheart for the evening activity, but the ground was soaked, so we pivoted again to do team skit night. Breakfast this morning was scrambled eggs and bacon, lunch was Italian subs, and dinner was chicken tenders and mac & cheese. (Please note, we try to get all kids in team photos, but it is like wrangling cats!)
