Pugawaggan 2026

Deeley Day #2 is in the books and what a day it was! Day 7 of each session is our Deeley Day, where we break from the regular schedule for even  more fun. We sleep in an extra hour and have breakfast at 9am. (apple french toast casserole, bacon, and scrambled eggs). The morning is some rare free time around camp, where kids could choose activities like a movie in the basement of the hall, sprout ball, basketball, or ultimate frisbee. Lots of kids used the time to fish too! At noon, Nate gave a great Words of Wisdom talk about connection and community. Lunch was at 1 (grilled cheese and tomato soup). After rest hour, it was time for the big team event, and today that was Pugawaggan. (Who knows if I’m even spelling it right…) It’s a Deerhorn created event where teams run all over camp completing activities and when they complete them, they pick up those team members, so by the end, the whole team is running to the next step together. It culminates with the Leader paddling a half kayak from the canoe beach to the ski dock and the Leader lights the victory fire at the campfire ring. This year’s winner was the Wolves, followed by the Eagles, Bears, and Bobcats. Dinner was nacho bar, and then kids had an hour of koogee time before our B session campfire. We have SO MANY amazing entertainers of all ages that the future of Deerhorn campfires is in good hands! Cam took SO many good photos of today’s event. Check them out on SmugMug!
