So Much Fun

Things are a little different around here for the next two days. The Lake Superior Trip left this morning after breakfast, with 35 kids gone for today and tomorrow. There had to be some changes in the schedule because of massive flooding that occurred in northern Wisconsin a week ago. (Not us! WAY northern Wisconsin) Usually the trip heads up to Bayfield, but because of some road closures up there, the trip had to be changed. (Do not fear if your son is a Voyager…they leave Thursday and shouldn’t have any trouble getting to Bayfield, they just have to take a big detour that won’t work for the Lake Superior Trip.)

Suffice it to say that they are going to have a great time on the trip, even though it’s a little different. Today, they will go to Jim Peck’s Wildwood Zoo in Minocqua, have pizza for lunch, and then head to Copper Falls for hiking and camping overnight.

Back at camp, we enjoyed beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures today, and the lake was calm for skiing this morning. Kids went to regular activities this morning, but with a different schedule than normal, and Sports & Games played Sprout Ball.

This afternoon, we had a Deerhorn carnival, where you could play games to earn tickets, and then use the tickets to do things like go on the Rave, on the slip & slide, use the craft shop, or go skiing.  Kids really enjoyed the free time to choose what they wanted to do.

Meanwhile, the Voyagers were busy most of the afternoon packing their food for the trip. They really get excited to food pack because it makes the trip real, that they are actually leaving in two days!

Breakfast was eggs and toast, lunch was chicken salad pitas, and dinner is chicken tacos.  Lots of fun stuff going on at Deerhorn, like always, and that Deerhorn Smile is everywhere you look!
