I love announcing that we’re going to take brother pictures after a meal. It’s always fun to see who shows up, because it’s not just actual brothers. It’s also cousins and friends who just want their photo taken together. I brought my brother to camp with me my second year on staff at Deerhorn, and I can tell you first hand the depth of relationship that Deerhorn grows between siblings. It’s so fun watching brothers enjoy Deerhorn together. Some spend more time together than others, but they know they are there if the other needs them. Deerhorn also nurtures friendships between kids that grow with them as they get older. One of my favorite things is Deerhorn weddings, gathering with guys who have known each other since they were kids, and grew up together at camp. It’s such a gift you’ve given your son. It’s way more than just a couple of weeks. It’s the start of friendships that will nurture him as he grows up. They say it takes a village, and his village grows at Deerhorn!
The rain is past us, the sun is shining, and the second day of activities is in full swing! Breakfast was apple cinnamon french toast casserole, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Sports and Games is playing touch football on the soccer field, and kids are having a blast at A session!
